John Daniels
John is a songwriter, composer and musician who has been working in Gospel Music since the 1970’s. His early collaboration with singer David Pope, and involvement with such organisations as Youth for Christ and Spring Harvest, led to work with artists such as Dana, Cliff Richard, Bobby Ball and Sheila Walsh among many others, often involving events connected with ACG. Moving more into the music production arena in the 1980’s, John was kept busy producing albums for Word, Kingsway and Chapel Lane along with other church based music outreach projects.
In 1991 John and his family moved to the USA where his wife Tami comes from, and apart from a few years back in the UK in the late 1990’s, he has been based there ever since. For the last 15 years or so, John has been composing and producing the music underscore programme "Day Of Discovery" which airs nationally in the U.S., as well as composing for other projects that surface from time to time. In recent years John has teamed up with fellow ACG member Charles Timberlake to work ’transatlantically’ on several instrumental albums.
"I was first introduced to the ACG back in the 1960’s as a teenager, when I heard Nigel Goodwin speak about it at a local church. Little did I realise then how much I would later come to appreciate and value being a part of it. I’ve been a member now since the mid 1970’s - and actively involved in the small local Portsmouth gathering that functioned for a short time in the 1990s. Although I can’t be practically involved living here in the US, I will always be an ACG supporter. I’m especially thankful for the invaluable Christian encouragement it provided in those early years, and the friendships formed through it - not the least being that of my good friend Dave Berry, who was manager at the ACG back in the 1980’s."
